I would be more than happy to make suggestions for you. But what suits you
will depend heavily on what level your English is at, and also, what you enjoy
reading. Becasue from my own experience, I know that if you read something
that you really enjoy, you are more likely to be able to finish the book and
want to read more!
From what you've said, I would suggest that you start with children's books.
All children's books could help you learn, and there are various levels
depending on what you feel comfortable with. And I think they are more
interesting than magazines in general.
Books that I would recommend include all books written by the American
author: Beverly Cleary. Some examples include Ramona Quimby, age 8, Ramona
Forever, Ramona the Pest, and the rest of the books in the same series.
They are very well written, and are about stories of a little girl.
In general, I would suggest that you go to a local library. Depending on
where you live, I know that the library near me has an English section, with
quite a good selection of story books. You can choose one from there. ^^
