Re: [Talk] The quiet life?
Gosh...I feel like I'm writing an essay...
Anyways:
Obiter's comments are very true to a certain point. (Yep that's right..
a little disagreement).
People have always described NZ as a country suitable for "retirement".
(I think that says a lot about the type of environment NZ is).
Therefore it "may not" be appropriate for young adults to stay there.
But just out of curiousity... what's wrong with a comfortable life?
Yes it is slow, quiet and peaceful. But one still needs to work to support
oneself (of course this will bring up yet another hot topic in NZ - the
unemployment benefit but let's not go there yet shall we?)
And work will keep people alive, believe it or not.
Yes the workload will be much lighter than to comparison of TW.
But if it is not necessary, why work till your body cannot handle the pressure?
Personally, I enjoy good life and I will work to ensure I have that life.
But once I reach there, I'll stop.
People may comment I am not aggresive enough or not motivated enough.
But anyways, that's my interpretation of "balanced life"
Secondly, about the comment that people are not "tough enough".
Actually it reminds me about the term "Strawberry generation" (sorry...
very very direct translation XD)
People's actions are caused by the environment they are brought up in.
Life in this generation is not comparable to the generation beforehand and
afterwards. So I've always doubted, why put the same expectations?
Every generation has their own problem to encounter, I do not believe it is
sensible to compare the degree of "toughness".
To extend on that though, I strongly belive human, in their human nature,
are highly adaptative. We shall survive in whatsoever scenario given to us
(well..maybe not everyone @@).
(seems I'am a bit out of the topic..) Anyways my point is just that people
in NZ are like that cuz NZ environment is like that.
But given chances they can be like TW ppl too.
-------------------------------------------------
I remembered I have another point that I would like to mention but...
the program just crashed and my thoughts flew away with it -______-
NVM.
Anyways, please feel free to correct me, perhaps my thoughts are immature?
(hope not..)
