Cloning technology In recent years, there has been a tremendous progress in cloning technology, but it is also becoming a controversial issue. Since the first world's cloned person appeared, the cloning technology has even become the leading target of many big countries' scientific research in several future years. Why cloing technology is so debatable is that it presents many political and ethical challenges, which involve in all aspects of latter-day human life. In scientific reseachers and phrmacists' view, cloning technology boosts the quality of medical treatements. For example, it is costly and time-consuming for a surgeon to obtain organs for organ transplants. However, by cloning some other kinds of animals who has organs to similar to humans', and doing through researches in them, the shortfall of human organs for making transplants can be complemented. Furthermore, by using the cloned embryos to harvest stem cells, doctors can investigate in therapeutics for a wide rage of diseases, including diabetics, strokes, or even cancers. That would usher in a new age of medical science and all humans' life. At any rate, the researches of cloning technology can bring many secrets of human body and medical science to light. The prospects of cloning technology is brightening. However, everything has its reverse side, and cloning technology is no exception. The demerits of cloning technology is also numerous and dangerous to people. For instance, ethic learners say that every human embryo need to be conidered an individual human life. To clone animals or embryos to harvest stem cells is a disrespect for the sanctity of life. If cloning technology of animals is widely permitted for remedies and pharmaceutical uses, a higher controversy about profound ethical and moral problems will be raised. What's worse, if the cloning of humans is permitted, the traditional customs and ethical relations by ties of blood will collapse; because we don't know how to perceive a cloned person, don't know whether he a child of the original cell owner's parent is proper or not. In conclusion, the issue of cloning draws much attention of all people in the world, and people are also in hopes of the prosperous future in the thriving of cloning technology. It's inevitable that the cloning technology will be widely utilized in the future, which is difficult to handle for governments, legislators, and specialists. If they are all determined to cope with it, and can understand it in full perspective, there will be nice prospects of our life. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.116.8.95
