Hi, lirqa/ Good to hear someone's interested in Britpop here, but as far as I realized: Britpop was first introduced to describe bands like Oasis/ Blur/ PULP...etc., while the bands that you mentioned couldn't all be catalogued to that genre (to me), some of them were not so British, and some of them were just not so "pop" at all. I'd rather simply conclude them to alternative rock. Well, genre arguings were really vapid, there was no denying that you've a good taste in music (while Chris Martin was still cool to me =.=). I ceased band-hunting couple of years ago, and haven't listened to half of the bands that you introduced, perhaps there were only certain "seats" in my mind for the rock bands, once they were occupied, it's hard to find a new chair for the new comers. Would you mind if I borrow your thread to find some ECM pals here #_#? By the way, my personal alternative bests were "Radiohead", "Mogwai", "Sigur Ros", "Four Tet"....., and rock favorites were "Doves", "R.E.M", "PULP", "Wilco", "Travis"....., we don't share much in common, huh? :p ECM favorites were "David Darling", "Ketil Bjornstad", "Bobo Stenson Trio", "Ralf Towner".
