Re: [Talk] my BFF
Same as you, I am also a simple-minded learner of the English language.
More specifically, I have always been a fumbling rookie who, willy-nilly,
can do nothing more than struggle hard to bid the upsetting label of an
English novice farewell--eternally in vain, though. Every time I wave my
hands anxiously to ensure a complete adieu, I feel myself more tightly-bound
to the beginner's starting point. Self-effacement does love company as well.
To be honest, you have made an impressive progress in your writing
proficiency. Granted, it would sound pretentious to praise you as
having made a leap-and-bound stride; yet, it is perfectly
fair to show my admiration for your fervent desire to really make a
distinct improvement. Equally long is the way for us to trudge forward,
and--hopefully--equally promising is the sanguine painting of our goal.
At this moment in time we do walk abreast with each other in terms of our
reckless exploration of the English language. To alter John Updike's
famous line a little: Life is too short to be self-satisfied. Let's witness
how far a sheer love for the English language could carry us.
