[Ask ] please help to explain this sentence
I remembered when I was younger,
and mom and dad told me i was getting a little brother,
I was really excited.
after all these years of getting pushed around by Rodrick,
"I was definitely ready to move up a notch on the totem pole."
Could you please help to explain the sentence I marked?
I could not figure it out at all.
