如果你對 "rise" 這個動詞稍有認識，
就會明瞭絕非將 rising inventories 這個主詞視作單複數皆可。
先給個答案， rising inventories 在此一定是作"複數"主詞，理由請詳下說明。
rise(上升) 是個不及物動詞，也就是說，它後面不可能直接放個名詞當它的受詞。
相對地，raise和rise意思相近，raise卻是及物動詞，raise後面才可能直接放名詞。
所以rising inventories中的rising應看成(動詞現在分詞形式的)形容詞，
意思是"正在(or持續)上升的"。故真正的主詞仍是inventories，rising僅是修飾語。
如此一來，原題的(B)及(E)選項就產生了主詞動詞單複數不一致的問題，
可以毫不猶豫的刪去。
