D 選項是在解釋 store brand 相對於 name brand 的價格優勢的原因,乍看也不是完全
無關。現在我們站在一個行銷顧問的角度,分別以這兩個選項為前提,
對這些 name brand 公司說一句話
B: 就算你們縮小價差顧客也回不來,因為 store brand 品質 OK 的話
就沒必要買還是比較貴一點的 name brand
D: 價差很難降不下去,因為 store brand 在自家店裡打廣告不需要錢
這樣有看出來為什麼選 B 不選 D 了嗎?D 是在強調”原有的優勢”。況且,
題目已經說明,要”narrow the price gap”,意思就是不管 store brand 要如何降價
,name-brand 都會想辦法拉近價差。而 B 就是說明在品質上對客戶來說已經沒有差異
,即使是拉近價差,客戶還是會選便宜的 (store brand),為正確答案。
補充說明,美國各大grocery store幾乎都有自營品牌(就是store brand),store brand
的價錢高低其實是看店的等級
舉燕麥當例子好了(數字只是概略的)
高級商店:
自營品牌 $3.0/lb A牌 $3.5/lb B牌 $4.5/lb
中等商店
自營品牌 $2.0/lb D牌 $2.0/lb C牌 $2.5/lb A牌 $3.5/lb
廉價商店
不知名品牌 $1.0/lb 自營品牌 $1.5/lb D牌 $2.0/lb
(個人美國生活經驗) 有時候在廉價商店裡,store brand反而才較有品質
