回覆 luijay 板友問題之2 pernicious penurious 這兩個單字的講解難度比第一個問題的單字簡單多了你只要懂得字根，這兩個字絕對不會困惱你先談 pernicious 吧 pernicious adj.有害的,有毒的 [injurious; hurtful] 拆字是 per + nic + i + ous (through) (kill) nic 這裡是kill的意思，字義可想成[會完完全全的殺掉的--->有害的] 其實源頭是 nec 再由弱化後變成 nic 在紅寶還出現了 internecine adj.互相殘殺的 [inter + nec + ine] necropolis n.大墓地(史前時期的墳場) [a cemetery,esp one of large size and usually of an ancient city] [nec(kill) + polis (city)] _________ 附帶一提的是 nec這個字根的來源，是跟noc有關的，就順便講解一下 noc == harm nox nocuous adj.有害的 [noc-u-ous] noxious adj.有害的 [nox-i-ous] innocence n.無害、天真 innocent adj.無害的、天真的 (其實也有nocent adj.有害的這個字，不過極為少人用) obnoxious adj.令人不快的 [ob-當to解] __________________________ 接著談 penurious 吧 penury n.極度貧窮 [extreme poverty] penurious adj.極度貧窮的 [extremely poor] adj.極度小氣的 [extremely stingy] 這裡penu是個不怎麼熱門的字根 penu 的意思是 need [字義為in the state of need] ry 是表名詞 rious 是表形容詞 --------------- 但是!! 不要跟字根 pecun == money 搞混了喔有c 的代表有coco[錢的意思] pecul-ate v.挪用;盜取 [to steal money, esp. public funds] pecun-iary adj.金錢的 [of or pertaining to money] im-pecun-ious adj.沒有錢的 [having little or no money] ________________ review 一下 per-nic-ious adj.有害的,有毒的 [injurious; hurtful] nic = kill penu-rious adj.極度貧窮的 [extremely poor] adj.極度小氣的 [extremely stingy] 這樣有沒有分清楚了呢 ------ 歡迎板友在推文中，提出想知道要怎麼背的單字我會選幾位板友的想知道的單字來講解(如果是紅寶的我知道的比較多一點) 但是請先推在最新的這篇中阿~~ 不然我都還要去其他篇找來找去，看看有沒有要問的單字很累的耶 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.169.31.108
