necropolis 的前綴字源是古希臘文的 nekros [死者]
nic/nec/nex 則是衍生自拉丁文 necare [殘殺、使…暴死、摧毀、防礙]
雖然兩個很像，而且拉丁文的 necare, 以及你下文說的 noc(ere) 都是從希臘文
的 nekus [屍體] 來的，這跟 nekros 又一道是從梵文的 nac [消逝] 的
字根來的----雖說如此，但還是不一樣，正如遺傳父母或是隔代遺傳也是有差別的
這點還可以從英文字義上的些許差異感覺到：
墓地裡埋的人不一定是慘死或被害死的
但 pernicious, internecine 卻隱含這種負面義
