I think it is a good idea for all students.
Here I wanna provide my own experiences.

Several days ago, I attended in ACC 2005 in Portland (from 6/08 to 6/10).
Even the date is very close to my orals, I still wanna attend it cause
it might be the last chance for me to present as a student.
Anyway I took all day flight from Taipei to Portland cause it needs 2
connecting flights (in Kaoyoto and San Francico).
In that conference, the most impressive thing is there are too many students
from India and China.
It really shocks me.
Even it is well known that there are many good students from both countries,
it still gives me a strong impression.
Also the English in Indian accent is very hard for me to realize what
they are really talking about.
However there are only few participants from Taiwan, I think we really should
take it seriously.
Anyway I just wanna share my first experience in giving talk in English.
I will never forget this experience...
