感覺起來好像又塑造了一個「美國什麼都好」的假象 ~_~
l 網友說的,部分是正確的,在國外的實驗室,特別是美國老闆下一堆international
student 的,很容易會讓人有這種假象
不過,我發現,大部分的美國人,還是會care這種rank的,只是他們的教育告訴他們,
不能夠把這種bias表現出來,就像深植於美國白人內心的種族歧視一樣
所以儘管老闆會說,叫我first name,然後feel free to ask any question
但你可以發現,大部分學生還是叫Dr. xxx 或Professor xxx
有些美國學生是會直接叫first name,但,你仔細去看老闆的動作
就可以知道,誰比較得寵了...
不過,我倒是覺得,一個剛進實驗室的孩子
最好還是虛心一些,多看看你的學長學姐怎麼做
即使你已經會了,但也許這個實驗室特別強調些什麼你可以學習
你也可以從觀察的過程中知道什麼東西放在哪裡、怎麼操作
(你能說剛進實驗室的你這些方面都比你學長姐強嗎?)
另外,有時候說話或回答問題的語氣、態度
也會影響到別人對你的看法
我在台灣跟美國看過很多很優秀的人
但是卻常常會和人家起爭執以及有不好的傳聞
或多或少都跟個性、處事態度脫離不了關係吧
