大家好: 我是這週剛加入假日寫作班的新同學, 以下是我寫的英語學習計畫, 想知道你們的建議, 我也會儘我所能提供建議的。 brendonfish ============================================================================== Construct a Pervasive Environment for Learning English ============================================================================== Motivation ============================================================================== In Taiwan, English has become one of the major skills for students and write collars who want an advanced career. Therefore, many are seeking for more efficient ways to improve their English. However, according to an annual report from ETS Taiwan 2006, our average TOEIC score is fall behind 7 countries in Asia, including Philippine, India, Turkey, China, Hong-kong, and Korea. In the international conferences, many students still can not fully understand the idea of the native speakers. Even so much efforts are made in English education, the progress seems to be ineffective. To data, most of the English leaning schemes in Taiwan are lecture-based learning, which is commonly accepted estern students. However, many reveals that lecture-based learning tends to communicate in single direction. This can be tedious and boring, and lack sufficient practices. The best way of leaning a skill (such as a language) is to practice rather than to understand. Therefore, we suggest a pervasive English learning scheme, a way of practicing-based English learning. In this scheme you construct an interactive environment in your daily life, such that you can keep practicing English every day. ============================================================================= Environment construction ============================================================================== A pervasive English learning environment requires you to listen, read, write, and speak in English. Therefore, the following key components are to be prepared: - Friends or colleagues to talk with Talking keeps you organizing your thoughts in English. Therefore, by talking with friends or colleagues in English every day, you are practicing this skill very often. And you save your time and money on taking English classes. More to mention, talking with a native speaker would be a better choice. A native speaker prevents you repeating your mistakes, or learning some strange grammar from other participants. - A place to wirte Writing enables you to review the logic structures of the passages, pick out grammar mistakes, and make a more effective communication. You can start with an English blog that share your life with friend all around the world. You may write your research notes (which is helpful when you need to write a report, or write your paper), or join the writing groups in “ST-English board ” in PTT. - Books or magazines you are highly interested in After starting to write and talk, you may find your expression is not effective, vocabulary is poor, and sentences are redundant. Therefore we read classics to learn good expressions. Your reading material can be a novel paper related to your research, magazines about your favorite topics, or any good writing books with interesting topics. ============================================================================== Conclusion ============================================================================== Once you have these key components prepared, you are practicing English in your daily life. In months, you may have more friends, improve your English, and do not feel you are “learning” English any more. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 203.67.8.45
