Describe a custom from your country that you would like people from other
countries to adopt. Explain your choice, using specific reasons and examples.

In my country, Taiwan, we have a special way to deal with our garbage. We
have to leave our garbage in our home wait for the coming of garbage truck
and throw away our garbage. Moreover, we pay lots of attention on the
recycling of plastic products and batteries, those ordinary recycling
products, and some kitchen waste. It is very amazing custom for other
foreigners, so I think the custom which is the most meaningful to introduce
to others. My supporting ideas are as below illustrate why it is.
To begin with, in the past, the residents in Taiwan are used to leave their
garbage in somewhere outside their house in order to prevent that the
disgusting smell stayed in their house. However, because everyone does this
selfish action which causes some serious sanitary problems, and we always
saw many roaches and pats running on the roads. This situation also make
the appearance of city looks like very dirty and inappropriate, but also
cause increase the risk of some infectious diseases. For the reason, our
governments ask everyone could leave their garbage outside and have to put
our garbage on the garbage truck by ourselves. This new policy really
changes the terrible experience. It makes those roads in Taiwan more clean
and bright and also improves our sanitary condition. I believe that the
custom is very special and worthy to tell others the story of the policy.
Additionally, most of countries always focus on recycling the normal
recycling waste, such as paper, plastic products, and batteries. We all
know that we can do something beneficial for recycling those products, and
we will get a more green global from the action. However, in Taiwan, we
don't just pay attention on those materials but also the kitchen waste.
Sometimes, our mother cooked more than we could eat. In the past, throwing
out the kitchen waste is the only option to deal with the waste. But now,
we know the kitchen waste can be made to some useful fertilizer to help
the plants to grow up. As the matter of truth, the action decreases the
amount of waste and the cost of dealing with the garbage. By the way, we
can have more organic fertilizer just by do few additional processes. It
is very important how to do something beneficial to our earth. In fact,
this way of dealing with waste changes the role of waste, from harmful
garbage to helpful products. This is why I think that I should tell others
the custom.
In conclusion, the way of Taiwanese how to deal with our garbage is not
only beneficial for our communities and cities but also the whole earth.
Nowadays, the issue of global warming is a very crucial, and how to make
our earth more clean and green is very important for each resident in the
global village. I hope that others can learn our way to deal with the
garbage by sharing this custom to you. If everybody can do that, I believe
that we will have a better earth and environment.
