1.Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? A person's childhood years (the time from birth to twelve years of age) are the most important years of a person's life. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. ===================================================================== Which period is critically determinative for a person’s personality? The answers may differ from childhood, adolescence, to adulthood. Generally speaking, without grave changes in one’s life, we get accommodated to the style of parents’ discipline, the physical and social environment, and form a character distinct from others. Therefore, some say that childhood years are the most important years of one’s life. Nevertheless, I don’t see eye to eye with the viewpoint. The first reason is that according to psychology, people in the age are liable to mimic adults. They cannot distinguish true and false on their own, so they can just follow the steps of those who are considered to be the “models”. Secondly, the life experiences for a child are still limited. Studies and tests play a main role in their daily lives. They don’t have enough money and time to spend on things they are interested in. Without broadening horizons, a person cannot contemplate what he or she really wants in life. Last but not least, people in childhood are still viewed premature in average. They may have abundant knowledge even critical thinking, but the limited experiences confine them far from the social reality. To sum up, owing to the three reasons mentioned above, people in childhood years are still seeking and inquiring. What they experience in the period of time are just referential resources for the future. Not until they are ripe enough can they make decisions or take actions which absolutely essential to their lives. That’s why I disapprove of the argument. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 59.117.186.26 ※ 編輯: jarlinlove 來自: 59.117.186.26 (01/07 22:49)
