Basing their jdugement on the fact that different local populations
of bowderbird of the same species build bowers that exhibit different
building and decorative styles, researcheers have concluded that the
bowderbird's building styles are a culturally acquired, rather than
genetically transmitted, trait.

So, I am pretty sure it is formally acceptable.....
