本來聽說英國的UKBA不接受TOEFL成績，自以為可能明年才會影響到申請，本來不太在意結果，在4/30的時候學校寄給我一封信: Additionally I note that your English language certificate is outstanding. You must have booked and passed one of the following examinations by June 2014. Ple ase be advised that if you require a student visa to study at the AA we can no longer accept the TOEFL examination since the UKBA no longer recognises it as a valid English examination (please visit the following link for further informa tion https://www.ets.org/toefl/important_update/update_toefl_uk): 我本來已經報名了5/17號的考試，想要再拿更高的成績，瞬間豬羊變色。更何況人在澳洲打工，這邊的TOEFL TEST比台灣更貴要240USD。所以我照上列網頁提供的Email，寫了一封信給他。內容: I want to cancell TOEFL test on 17th May, since ETS announced Schools in UK no longer accept TOEFL scores. https://www.ets.org/toefl/important_update/update_t oefl_uk Also, my school mailed me yesterday. My personal information as follows: .... 然而在我寄件後一周之後，他只回我: Thank you for contacting the TOEFL Program. Dear Chang, Regarding your inquiry: Your inquiry has been forwarded to the appropriate area for a response. Please allow sufficient time for a representative to respond. 因為appropriate area 這個答覆實在太模糊了，所以我打到馬來西亞的中心詢問。結果，那個操印度口音的女接線生說: 我只能保證可以退50%，如果你不滿意的話你可以打到紐約。跨了一個周末，我打到紐約，終於得到一個比較正面的回覆: 你可以拿到完整的退費，但是需要經過7-10個工作天審核。結果終於在今天看到新的來信: Dear Mr. Chang, Your request to receive a test fee refund for your May 17, 2014 TOEFL iBT regis tration date was forwarded to me for assistance. You indicated you received an e-mail advising that TOEFL scores will not be accepted by the UK Immigration Au thority and do not wish to test. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenie nce and concern this may have caused you. In response to your request, a full test fee refund of US$240.00 was issued. Th e refund will be credited to your charge card account in approximately 7-10 day s. We wish you much success in your future endeavors.
