When they like the topics, their speaking performance is better and their motivation in speaking is higher as well. Among those interested topics, CCI is mostly accepted and noticed as well as inclined to learners because it is interesting to learn different cultures and different thinking style. Also, CCI is used a topic for them to initiate or keep the conversation going on in group discussion. They need to learn to speak English well because Taiwanese attach importance to the English education while we are young. In addition, it is a tool for communication which is an essential skill for working in Taiwan. However, due to language learners’ personality, the time limitation for speaking, the activeness and willingness of interlocutors, or receiving correction from others, some of learners tend to speak their mother tongue than in English for the smooth of conversation. They all agree that 12 to 15 minutes is the most appropriate for discussion in English. As a result, it is inferred that a close relationship exist between motivation and discussion.
