[閒聊] Where are the jobs?

雖然是在講neuroscience jobs, 雖然是不同的國家跟系統,
但是裡頭的一些內容跟建議應該是可以放到任何一個領域, 做為參考.
裡頭有一些內容, 我覺得可以給大家一些鼓勵跟提醒:
"It's important to take a step back and realize [that] the degree
you have is unique in the world. And when you leave an environment
where everyone around you has a Ph.D., you become, miraculously,
a really credible, smart person."
如果換個環境, 說不定會發現, 你會變成那個職場裡, 最有想法, 最聰明的人.
找個地方, 可以把你所受的思考跟邏輯訓練, 好好地突顯跟發揮. 讓我們的腦筋
受到尊重. 而不是只是被老闆壓榨, 當一個paper產生器.
He recommends spending no more than 5 years in postdocs. "That's a long
time to be not making a lot of money," he said -- and if you aren't
receiving job offers from universities by then, it's probably time to
look into one of the other available careers.
把5年的postdoc當成一個停損點. 找其他地方去賺多一點錢吧!
(國情不同, 在美國做 postdoc 的薪水很低. 在台灣, postdoc的薪情是相對高的)
看來念生醫的, 未來的路都很辛苦啊!
