哈囉您好! 我去估狗了一下 Ron 的回答 ( http://ppt.cc/Ikom ) 在 Ron 第一次的回答中他是這樣說的 (c) contains "shots that were sent by swift messenger", illogically implying that the shots themselves were sent by swift messenger. 也就是說 Ron認為這句話讀起來的意思是 shots were sent by swift messenger 而不是 the news was delivered 所以 Ron 並沒有認為 that 是指代 news 喔 ^^" 至於你看到的那個部分是因為有人在問他說 touch rule 的例外 (exceptions to the touch rule) 提問的人說 that 可以修飾前面的整個 noun phrase 這應該就是上一篇推文中 mcgerry823 大大提到的跳躍修飾吧什麼時候會出現 touch rule 的例外呢 (跳躍修飾) Manhattan SC的解釋是說 a mission critical modifier falls between 可是這句話到底是什麼意思? 到底怎樣才夠資格稱做 "mission critical" 提問的人舉了一個例子 (應該是書中的例子) He had a way of dodging opponents that impressed the scouts. 在這句話中雖然最接近 that 的名詞是 opponents 可是 that 絕對不是在修飾 opponents 而是在修飾 a way 我們把整句話拆開成 S + V + O 這樣最基本的句型 He had (a way of dodging opponents that impressed the scouts.) S V O 而這句話其實說到底只是在表達 He had a way 降子而已而他有的這個 way 是一個可以 "impress the scouts" 的一個 way 可是如果只有降沒有人知道 what "way" we were talking about here 所以他用了一個 noun phrase 來說明 it's a way of dodging opponents 讓大家來了解這個 way 到底指的是什麼 (mission critical!) 這樣分析完後就可以明顯的知道 that 後面接的子句是用來修飾 a way of dodging opponents 這一整串而這一整串最終要說的也不過就是 "a way" 這個東西而已希望這樣有幫助到你判斷 that 修飾的先行詞最後 SC-PP3-171 這題 C.
