According to the propositional analysis derived from Susan Bovair &
David E. Kieras, sentneces could be analyzed as the representation of
propositions. One proposition, a sentence, can be decomposed into
one predicate, two arguments. Predicates usually refer to verbs,
adjectives, adverbs; two arguments can be logical subjects and
logical objects. For example, the cat ate the mouse. In the preceding
sentence (proposition), "ate" is regarded as the predicate, the "cat"
the logical subject, and the "mouse" the logical object.
