3. Some high schools require all students to wear school uniforms. Other high schools permit students to decide what to wear to school. Which of these school policies do you think is better? Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion. ============================================================================== This issue implies the function of uniform: regulation of students. To wear school uniform is a way to help school administrators to differentiate students of their own school from that of other school. Whereas to deregulate the rule of wearing uniform would confuse administrators when they intend to manage students, even though deregulation of uniform enables students much more freedom. Schools are places for learning and learn to be a citizen.This means schools should create a environment which enables students to experience differences in this society, so that every studnet would realized the importance of respect of other values. When students are permitted to choose what to wear, They are encouraged to express their own value in the same time. For those who think not wearing uniform may cause students' dis- obedience, they consider uniform as a way to discipline students. Once every stuednts wears uniform, they are identical. In the process of wearing uniform students are all abide by the rules of school. With rules, students therefore become obedient. However, schools are not places isolated from true society. Schools should inspire students to know the diversity of values among the society rather than control their ability to express themselves in the name of discipline.
