(Reuters) -US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Paul Atkins
pledged to pursue minimal regulation and fast-track President Donald Trump's
proposal to scrap quarterly earnings reports in an opinion piece for the
Financial Times on Monday.
（路透社）— 美國證券交易委員會（SEC）主席保羅·阿特金斯（Paul Atkins）週一在
《金融時報》的一篇評論文章中承諾，將致力於推動最少量的監管，並加速落實唐納德·
川普總統提出的「取消季度財報」提案。
"The government should provide the minimum effective dose of regulation needed
to protect investors while allowing businesses to flourish," Atkins wrote,
adding that changes should not be driven by political trends.
阿特金斯寫道：「政府應該提供最低限度、但能有效保護投資人的監管，同時讓企業得以
蓬勃發展。」他並補充指出，改革不應該受到政治潮流的驅動。
At present, the SEC requires listed companies to release financial statements
every 90 days.
目前，美國證交會規定上市公司必須每 90 天公布一次財報。
Trump previously backed the proposed change in 2018 and renewed his call
earlier this month.
川普早在 2018 年就支持過這項改革提議，並於本月稍早再次提出呼籲。
Atkins did not lay out a timeline for the change, which would be a major shift
for companies in the U.S.

Some investors have cautioned that a move away from quarterly reporting would
result in diminished transparency and increased market volatility, which would
in turn make U.S. stocks less attractive to investors.
部分投資人警告，如果取消季度財報，將會導致透明度下降、股市波動性上升，進而使美
國股票對投資人來說吸引力減弱。
心得/評論：
短期 → 投資人恐慌、不確定性增加，波動上升？？
中期 → 市場效率下降，資金可能部分流出美股？？
長期 → 若不搭配其他透明度措施，美股吸引力下降，
公司治理風險加劇；但若有替代制度（半年報+加強內控），
可能讓長期投資文化更強？？
