Translator/Tour Guide Wanted
A group of Americans will visit Taipei in October to attend
my husband and my wedding. They do not have (and do not like)
any pre-set tour plan. They will probably go to places
spontaneously, while they do not speak Chinese/Taiwanese.
Therefore, my husband and I would like to hire 2 translators/tour
guides for those American guests. The translators/tour guides (as
"you") must have your cell phones on 24hr every day so that our
American guests can find you whenever they need help, such as
immediate translation, emergency assistance, etc. The guests may
or may not request for tour guiding. If they do, you will tour
guide them wherever they request and assist their tour plan,
unless you are already booked for other guests of ours.
Working Period: Oct. 10 - Oct. 12 (2 people needed)
+ Oct. 13 morning (only 1 of the 2 people needed).
Must stand by 24hr each day during this period.
Location: Mainly metro Taipei area. May be extended.
Payment: Base rate NT$1000/day for standby. Additional NT$300/hr
for tour guiding.
Criteria:
1. 21y/o or older
2. Fluent English communication and awareness of cultural differences.
(Perfection is not necessary.)
3. Able to tour guide through Taiwan-oriented perspectives, instead of
China-oriented perspectives. (Proof of taken Taiwanese History courses,
participating in Taiwan-oriented organizations/activities, etc. is not
necessary but will be highly valued.)
4. Friendly, enthusiastic, patient, flexible, and responsible.
5. Enough knowledge about important Taiwan historical/tourist sites.
Willing to look up for info as preparation if requested to tour
guide unfamiliar sites.
6. Please briefly explain which criteria you meet and why you think that
you are a competitive candidate. Either Chinese or English writing.
