「長久為事業煩惱，心思都放在如何於最短時間內賺取最多的錢，繼續這樣下去
的話，我最後一定會墮入無望復原的深淵。」
By "beyond hope of permanent recovery", I think Carnegie meant that
if he continues his money-driven way of life, there's no hope for him
to retrieve his intellectual and art pursuits.
