Re: [問題] Interogan pathway
※ 引述《WuTian (悟天)》之銘言:
: During maximum exertion, muscles generate lacate which is released into
: the bloodstream
: (1)show the pathway by which glucose is synthesized from lactate in the liver.
lactate+NAD+--(lactate dyhygrogenase)-->pyruvte+NADH
pyruvate--(pyruvate carboxylase)-->OAA
OAA--(PEP carboxykinase)-->PEP--(gluconeogenesis)-->glucose
: (2)why areseparate compartments needed for this?
1. Muscles are active in glycolysis and inactive in gluconeogenesis.
2. No more NAD+ is available for lactate oxidation in muscles.(see the
next answer for details)
: (3)why dosen't muscle release pyruvate directly for uptake by the liver
: to regenerate glucose, instead of converting it to lactate?
In the muscle:
Without oxidative phosphorylation, pyruvate "reduction" into lactate is
important for NAD+ regeneration. NAD+ is essential for glycolysis, which is
the major way of ATP generation in the absence of oxygen.
