我的答案是如下，和你的略有不同。
請高手指正～不好意思，引文刪掉一些。
每個句子都含有一處文法或修辭上的錯誤。請找出錯誤
: 1.The work was hard, sweating over hot machinery, bending in cramped spaces,
: sometimes mashing his fingers, skinning his knees, twisting heavy wrenches, and getting
: home late and exhausted every night.
exhasted-->exhausting 實在看不懂，但答案跟你一樣。
: 2.As a result of this study, the government started planting trees all over
: Kuwait and doing this really had an effect on the weather because the average temperature dropped
: several degrees in past years.
in past years => in the past years 加上the 在過去幾年當中。也是不確定
: 3.A University of Manchester astronomer, who thrilled sky watchers when he
: reported discovery of a planet around a neutron star.
who thrilled-->thrilling 實在看不懂，但覺得是去掉逗號耶～
: 4.The two hijackers, one of them threatened the pilot while the other covered
: the cabin,demanded to be taken to an undisclosed Central American country.
them => whom直覺這樣改，不知對不對，也不會解釋。
: 5.People flying across the country nowadays discover that you can get many
: different fares to the same destination.
flying => travelling 因為人不大可能飛越整個國家，飛機才會。

: 7.He is reluctant to tell you by himself because he is afraid that you might be
: worried about a couple of things.
去掉by，獨留下himself。強調他不想親自告訴你。
