one...the other是當只有限定兩個時，一個怎樣，而另一個怎樣，
MED2:He sat in front of the fire rubbing one bare foot against the other.
如果只是單單的the other或 one's other，
則是限定在一個群組裡，剩餘的另一部分怎樣，
MED2:Beethoven's Ninth is much longer than his other symphonies.
所以都有限定，不是限定兩個，就是限定在某特定群組
而another則沒有限定在某一群組中，本題的another thing，
沒有特定在哪個範圍中的，只要有相似性的都可以拿來當作比喻~

: (A)outnumber (B)outstrip

: 【疑問】中文字典標示兩者均有(數量上)勝過的意思，而英文解釋分別為
: outnumber:be more in number
: outstrip :be larger in quantity
: 但是我還是不大懂兩者的差別和這題為何只能選(B)outstrip ?

看英英解釋也不懂時，我會再去看例句，看能不能看出什麼端倪
outnumber:
MED2:an area where sheep outnumber humans by twenty to one
LDOCE5:Flats outnumber houses in this area.
Men in prison vastly outnumber women.
M-W's:Their wins outnumber their losses.
outstrip:
MED2:Demand for organic food was outstripping supply.
LDOCE5:Demand for new aircraft production is outstripping supply.
M-W's:Demand continues to outstrip [=exceed] supply.
從以上詞典的例句可以發現，outnumber是用在來可以明確、具體數出來的，
例如綿羊數、人數、公寓的數量、房子的數量、輸贏的次數
而outstrip比較用在抽象名詞、集合名詞，
例如需求、供給，和本題的成長等~
