To be honest, it is not logical to ask other people (even professors)
as to what sort of research you can do at their department.
Make up your own mind and give some suggestion for them to choose...
after all, they aren't responsible for giving you your research
methodlogies.
Consider:
With reference to our previou discussion, I understand that
the methodlogies used in some of the projects I proposed may
be difficult in the setting of your department.
Thus may I write to you to enquire as to whether the proposal
attached would be acceptable to your department during my
exchange period. Please do give me comments on the methodlogies
so that I can come up with a workable plan for us.
It is my desire to complete the exchange programme with minimal
disturbance to the running of your department.
Thank you very much.
