[文法] 分詞構句
我看到一篇中文文章，其內容如下：
電容器之電位差可以維持幾個小時，維持時間由電容器的容量大小決定。
而該篇文章底下附上英文翻譯:如以下所示
the voltage difference of the capacitor can be
kept for several hours, depending on the size of the capacitor.
我想問的是，英文翻譯是不是翻錯了，我認為上述英文是使用分詞構句
我對分詞構句的瞭解是『省略連接詞，動詞+ing，主詞與主句相同必省略』
若由此文法可得知depending on...所省略的主詞是
the voltage difference of the capacitor
完整的句子就變成
the voltage difference of the capacitor can be kept for several hours and
the voltage difference of the capacitor depends on the size of the capacitor.
然而若是如此，就已經偏離中文原本的意思了，
所以想請問這句英文是否翻錯呢？而正確的翻譯又該為如何呢？ 謝謝
