2. People learn in different ways. Some people learn by doing things;
other people learn by reading about things; others learn by listening to
people talk about things. Which of these methods of learning is best
for you? Use specific examples to support your choice.
===========================================================
Nowadays, we can learn what we want to learn by miscellaneous ways. We
can learn on our own by Internet, broadcast, video, or books. We also can
learn from our friends, classmates or teachers. As for me, the ways mentioned
above are not as effective as the following – learning by doing things.
No matter whom or where we receive knowledge from, we can not ensure the
correctness. Programs or websites sometimes exaggerate the headlines and
contents to attract more audience. People sometimes believe the information
staunchly without verification. If the correctness is doubtful, it
consequently has low credibility. If we depend mainly on this way to learn,
we may obtain false information.
In addition to the first reason, we have to know there is a gap between
theory and practice. Theories are always based on some presumptions, which
are inexistent in reality. For example, some economic theories hypothesize
that the market is in a completely competitive condition. If we only learn by
reading about things, what we learn is mere theories. We have to try to
memorize reluctantly because we have not experienced the situation. Someday
when we encounter difficulties in real life, we will be at our wit’s ends.
The third reason supporting my choice is that “practice makes perfect.”
By repetitive operation, the speed and accuracy of our work will boost over
time. No one can master a skill without personally practicing. Learning from
the process of doing helps you know exactly how it really works effectively.
You can also develop solutions to problems you face. Due to the three main
courses, I think learning by doing things is the best way for me.
