Just wondering, who likes Harry Potter here? I can't say that I'm a fan or anything, but it's true that I've read all 6 books that are out so far. They are definitely worth reading I think, but as a general comment, I'm starting to worry about them being children's books! Especially as the series go on, they get more and more dark and scary, almost morbid. And I'd hate to think of some poor 8-year-old reading about this kind of stuff: dark magic, revenge, hatred etc etc. Gosh! I'm sure books were a lot more innocent when I was a child!!! Overall, here's what I think about the books. The first one was definitely excellent, I really enjoyed it. The second one was really good two. Third one not as good as the previous ones, but still OK. I didn't realyl like the fourth one, thought it was a bit too long, and too much unnecessary detail. Also, disliked the fact that it was getting progressively darker! The fifth one I have to say, was really bad. The first chunk of it was really really boring, and the rest of the book was better, but again, getting even more evil!! >< The latest book though, the sixth one, I thought was quite good. Even though I was unfortunate to have been on the plane on the day that the book was released, so read about all the spoilers without warning!!!!! I was so disappointed with what happened in the book (I won't say it now in case any of you want to find out for yourself!). Anyway, the sixth book turned out to be really good! Despite being dark and rather depressing, it was shorter than the fifth one, and much more exciting. So yeah, these are my views on the books ^^ Feel free to completely disagree haha~ One last thing, I think it's true for all books, but especially so for Harry Potter, you need to read the English version to truly appreciate it.
