※ 引述《grazzilybear ()》之銘言: : : 3. Some high schools require all students to wear school uniforms. Other : : high schools permit students to decide what to wear to school. Which of : : these school policies do you think is better? Use specifc reasons and : : examples to support your opinion. : High school is an important period from an adolescent to an adult. The : students in this age have a mature body and they want to dress up to draw an xx : attention. However, the main goal of students in high school is to study hard : and they should not have time to think about what to wear everyday. every day "Everyday" vs. "everyday" is an issue that causes a lot of confusion, very common even among native speakers. "Every day" is a frequency. For example, "once every day" means "once a day" or "once per day"; "I go to school every day" is grammatically correct. "Everyday" is an adjective. For example, "everyday routine", "everyday life", or "everyday activities". : Wearing school uniforms present a status of a student. Most students would presents : watch their behavior and obey the rules in everywhere as long as they are xx : wearing uniforms. On the other hand, they do not earn money by themselves, so ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ It seems that both this sentence and the one before it are positive arguments for wearing uniforms, whereas "on the other hand" implies contrary. : they should not spent extra money on buying clothes. Furthermore, if students : do not wear school uniforms, classmates are easily found out who is rich and can easily find out : who is poor. That would results in the bad judgment to each others between x (there is a "would" in front) : classmates. : In conclusion, I agree high schools should require all students to wear : school uniforms. Wearing school uniforms takes advantage in many ways, such : as unbiased treatment, study hard and be a polite person. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ When listing things in a sentence, it is best to use the same grammatic class for everything in the list. For example: verb approach: Wearing uniforms helps us judge without bias, study hard, and be polite. noun approach: Wearing uniforms teaches fairness, studiousness, and etiquette. -- 一個 學術英文寫作 領域的討論板 在 PTT (telnet:ptt.cc〉 【 分組討論區 】 --> 11 國家研究院 政治, 文學, 學術 --> 科學學術研究院 --> 學術總合研究中心 --> ★ST-English PTT 學術英文/論文寫作班 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 24.83.235.248 ※ 編輯: dvlin 來自: 24.83.235.248 (03/03 11:24)
