[英中] 好像少了動詞的句子

小弟最近在翻譯一篇物理學演講時，看到以下黃色那句覺得怪怪的，innate 應該是形容詞？所以上來跟各位請教： It is not to be denied that, in the natural sciences, this kind of interest is wanting. Each individual fact, taken by itself, can indeed arouse our curiosity or our astonishment, or be useful to us in its practical applicat- ions. But intellectual satisfaction we obtain only from a connection of the whole, just from its conformity with law. Reason we call that faculty innate in us of discovering laws and applying them with thought.
