Cochrane Library每過一段時間會重新 review topic。
《Placebo interventions for all clinical conditions》
這個topic在2010有新版本，取代了原本2004年的版本。
(不過網址沒變，直接點上面的縮址即可連到新版。)
新的review收進了約50篇新出的trials.(until March 2008)
新的結論是:
We did not find that placebo interventions have important clinical effects in
general. However, in certain settings placebo interventions can influence
patient-reported outcomes, especially pain and nausea, though it is difficult
to distinguish patient-reported effects of placebo from biased reporting. The
effect on pain varied, even among trials with low risk of bias, from
negligible to clinically important. Variations in the effect of placebo were
partly explained by variations in how trials were conducted and how patients
were informed.

: 前陣子看到的一篇文章, 似乎剛好跟 daze 板友以前貼的結論（不完全）相反
: 文章的重點大概有幾個：
: 1. 安慰劑效果很大（但是對於哪些病症有效還在研究中）
: 2. 有道德正當性的安慰劑 --
: 安慰劑效應不需要騙人, 你可以跟病人坦承說你現在要使用安慰劑效應
: 實際上只是糖果, 即使只是這樣還是很有效
就文章中提到的paper看來，似乎連open-labeled placebo都對IBS有效。
不過，那篇paper多少有些令人疑慮之處...
一來人數太少(共約80人)
二來drop out人數太多(有13/10人drop out)
三來期限太短(3週)
關於placebo是否真的對IBS有效，也許值得做更大規模的研究。
如果真的有效，那當然很好。
但即使如此，對於IBS以外的疾病未必會同樣有效。
btw, IBS某種意義上，是個垃圾桶診斷

: 在這些年更多實驗後發現也許只是安慰劑
: 比如一些明明化學作用相反的藥物卻用來對付同一個病症
: 有時甚至不敵安慰劑
: 4. 民俗療法、中醫藥、針灸、順勢之類的 alternative treatments
: 研究者認為, 就算不全是安慰劑效應, 應該也有很大的成份是安慰劑
: 比如研究者發現, 針灸跟偽針灸, 甚至不用真的偽偽針灸, 效果都差不多
well, both (3) and (4) are not news to me...
