: 我有幾個朋友留學的時候有兼差 : 我上回去美西玩的時候也當了兩天臨時工 : 因為待遇很好 所以就姑且一試 : 不過畢竟不合法 所以心裡不太舒服 You are right. It is illegal to work in the US when you do not have a working related visa. (like H1 or F1 or J1...) : 留學美國畢業後留在當地工作... You can work for one year on OPT after you graduate. This is a little bit hard because you have to look for jobs while you are studying in the US. Then you must watch out for working visa sponsorship. This is tougher. Because a US company has to pay at least 2000 dollars or up to 3000 something dollars just to make your status legal. (If your status is illeagal, FBI will arrest you.) Nowadays unless you can write simplified Chinese fluently, and have other major skills like accounting or law or engineering, a US company won't sponsor thousands of dollars working visa for you. It is very tough. Every year there are one million foreign students studying in the US, but the new working visa issued are 85000 headcount only. : 嗯... 印象中好像是找到工作就可以申請居留... Green card is even much tougher. Unless your boss really likes you and need you and your boss is honorable person that does not delay his promise... Please Do not count on green card. I was translating English technical documents into simplified Chinese while I was asking that company to sponsor me working visa. But mainland Chinese have much cheaper price on their online translation websites. 1/3 of my price. I am not greedy about the hourly wages but working visa requires very high salary. That is why I have to ask for a higher price that my company is not even willing to pay for. Translation is outsourcing to mainland China. American companies want to do business with mainland China. This trend is cruel but I cannot stop it. So my experiences told me do not expect to get a US working visa by working as a translator in the US. (Remember, FBI is watching over all the foreigners after 911. So please do not even think about working illegally.) This is my sincere advice. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 72.146.86.134 ※ 編輯: janetsky 來自: 72.146.86.134 (01/30 10:14)
