請問一下，late是不是指"最近的"之意？

底下是我再翻過一遍的結果
布萊爾在最近的星期二晚上結束了紐約之旅，
在返回倫敦之前，布萊爾接受採訪時表示：「對於這件事我的看法不多，
所有國際社群應一致對抗恐怖主義，而且除了在安全防護層面下功夫之外，
更應該要主動去打擊恐怖份子一些不良的計劃」
